VISIONARIES

Reminiscing about the amazing Visionaries event that we co-hosted with Lifestyle Trimco and Ami Goodheart of SOTU Productions. Three stunning pastel Marie Antoinettes guarded the entrance, and guests mixed and mingled with their delicious Blackwell Rum cocktails, staring in awe at all of the intricate impressive costumes. Always a fabulous evening with Lifestyle and SOTU! Thanks for all who came, and we're glad you had fun.  :)

breast stroke

We generally don't stray from our normal attire for a day at the pool or beach. Yeah, if a bathing suit has metal on it, consider it purchased. Things we're lusting over featured above: hooded bikinis, bones, metal, and asymmetrical cuts. That's one fierce day in the sun.

ParoTees

Had way too much fun playing around in all of ParoTees graphic t-shirts! We were so happy that not only did we get to collaborate with them on our own WanderLust shirts, but a full day of modeling the entire collection was a great addition to the collaboration (the provided beer wasn't bad either.) Which shirt is your favorite?

...we got High Hopes ;)

Strut

Perusing stores and sites for the perfect Summer dress! Landed on these beauties: swan Topshop dress, cut-out Nasty Gal dress, white Cushnie et Ochs mini, tangerine Asos maxi, and burgundy Asos dress. Accidental theme here: cut-out or slit. Show that skin this season ;)

absurdities.

(Photos by Tom Mendes)

As promised more havoc from Tom's studio. As you can see it started out with some navajo inspired photos (of course we kept our Addams Family look in mind,) and turned into girls on a farm with roosters, army hats, bananas, smokes, killer shades, and bunny ears... yeah, sounds about right.

That's all beside the point... we are absolutely lusting these asymmetrical sheer mini's by Miilla. They're perfect for this wondrous heat wave we've been getting here in New York. At least it doesn't smell like burnt trash everywhere. Oh, wait. We get sidetracked... we were also so psyched when good friend and incredible designer, Elizabeth, joined in our madness, and let us don her badass body chains, and jewels.

All in all a wonderfully weird day, our favorite kind :)

Skin Love

There are a few things we love that we have acquired over the years that we might cry over if they stop producing them. Greenleaf hand cream has to be the best smelling lotion in the universe. Victoria's Secret Kissable Massage Oil tastes like heaven. Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration is possibly the only sunscreen that smells amazing and feels even better. Estée Lauder Idealist rejuvenates you. And MAC finishing mist wakes your ass up, and brightens up dull make-up.

Larger Than Life

We always know when heading to good friend, and amazing photographer, Tom Mendes' studio, that we'll find a treasure chest of oddities. When Tom pulled out Visionaire, the world's largest magazine donning Lady Gaga... we couldn't help but feel like toddlers reading our mothers magazines. Thank you Tom for bringing us back to a time when everything seemed larger than life :)

Xx,

P.S. Stay tuned from more madness in Tom's studio!

Rooftop travel

(Photos by Vanessa Partridge)

The sun is shining, no clouds, perfect day to get in a bikini, and head to... the roof. That's right. Heading to the beach? I think not. Hampton's maybe, but let's be real serious, after looking at our calendar we won't be seeing the Hampton's for quite some time.

So, to feed our need for sun basking and sun kissed bodies, we travel to the roof, and proceed to lather up in Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration spf 50. (We don't skimp, WanderLust vampires like to play it safe when it comes to the sun.) For those who don't burn, it comes in spf 12 and 30 as well! The scent and feel is amazzzing.

Regardless if we're sitting on sand, or some sort of sticky tar like material, we always bring the Things We Love: our Anna Sui towel, Marc by Marc Jacobs larger than life sunglasses, a giant Foley + Corinna bag filled with all sorts of things (i.e. magazines, music, notepads, nail polish,) however, we usually just shut our eyes, the city sirens become white noise, and we take in our wonderful pseudo New York City beach.

handkerchief

(Video by Abigail Breslin)

After scouring one of our favorite showrooms, X'Tige, we couldn't keep our hands off the label "handkerchief." When we learned that each piece can be transformed into something else, we had to know how. Luckily for us, the designer (Amy Cheung) was in the city, and we got to delve into the real meaning of handkerchief's designs. Enjoy  :)

Michael Kors and Fern Mallis

(Photos by Alex Geana)

The 92Y held another incredible discussion between Fern Mallis and famous designer, Michael Kors. Each story he told was not only inspirational, but hilarious! Who would have thought... well about the hilarious part, of course he's inspirational.

When talking about being asked to work as one of Project Runways judges he said, "when I heard reality fashion show I instantly thought of Survivor, and just pictured designers eating fabric!" Luckily, this was not the case, but epic image nonetheless.

Mallis asked Kors if he could have anyone play him in a movie who would it be. Without hesitation, Daniel Craig if it was a drama, and Will Ferrell if it was a comedy! As for trend advice for 2012 he said, "Get a tailor!!" Agreed :)

Regardless, we were so happy we had the opportunity to learn a lot, laugh a lot, and eat way too many Baked by Melissa cupcakes, and possibly too much Given Liqueur...
